How  Does It Work?

@Glamourhouse_Dresshire is open for try-ons by appointment, Monday to Thursday evenings. We book out VERY quickly (often 5-14 days in advance) so get in early!

Complete the contact form to book a 30 minute try-on session (or better still, Inbox us on our Instagram page). We encourage you to try on a range of dresses during your visit to make sure you find the perfect one, however, we do ask you to come in prepared with screenshots of your fave dresses so that you make the most of your session, as you'll find the time flies so fast when you're having fun! 
We do not charge for these appointments, however ask for 12-24 hours notice if needing to move your booking, so that we can offer your time slot to another customer. Should you cancel with less than 12 hours notice or fail to show for your appointment, a re-booking fee will be charged to reschedule.

The dress hire fee is only payable if you find a dress you love and wish to book it.


Payment Options


In-person hires:

Payment can be made via cash or bank transfer.

The full hire fee is paid in order to book/secure a dress. This is strictly non-refundable for any reason. There may however be some flexibility (depending on availability & some other factors) to switch your hire to a different dress or alternate event date after booking.

We do not hold dresses without the booking fee being paid in full.


The bond (see below) is not payable until you collect your outfit for your event.  


Glamourhouse take great pride in keeping garments in great condition, however we ask you to remember that these are hire pieces often worn multiple times, so small imperfections or repairs are to be expected & are factored in to the hire fee. We do however note down any pre-existing imperfections during our pre-hire inspection, before you collecting your dress for hire (so we know they weren't caused by you!)


Online/postal hires:

Payment can be made via bank transfer or Paypal (3% Paypal fee applies). 

The full hire fee, plus bond, plus postage fees are to be paid together upon booking.

Bookings
Bookings can be made in-store once you’ve decided on a dress (or you can email us or send us a message on our Instagram page).
Interstate bookings can be made via email or through our Instagram page @Glamourhouse_dresshire


Most customers book their dress 3-6 months in advance to avoid missing out on their faves! However you can leave it until the week of your event if you're a risk taker!

Hire Fee

The hire fee is due upon booking your item. It is strictly non-refundable for any reason. There may however be some flexibility (depending on availability & some other factors) to switch your hire to a different dress or alternate event date after booking.

Bond

A bond is payable on or before the collection of your dress. Our standard bond is $100, however this may vary occasionally for some of our new stock or more valuable pieces. Your bond will be returned to you after the garment is returned, cleaned & inspected.

If the dress is returned in the required condition, your bond will be returned to you within 7-14 days,  (via bank transfer).


Cancellations or Change of Mind

If a cancellation is made after a dress is booked, the hire fee will be held by Glamourhouse. It is strictly non-refundable for any reason.

If you change your mind re: which dress you would like to hire after a booking has been made, Glamourhouse may allow you to swap to a different dress, subject to availability and some other factors.

If your event date is changed, or you'd like to move your hire to a different event/date, please contact us. We will always make our best endeavours to accommodate you where possible.


COVID/SICK Cancellations

Should your event be cancelled or postponed due to COVID or sickness, please contact us straight away. We ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER YOU A REFUND however we are happy to move your hire to your new date (or to a different event) if postponed so long as your dress is available for that new date. If cancelled completely we may be able to offer you a 3 month hire credit. This is determined on a case by case basis as each situation is unique. We do however ensure our customers are well looked after as your happiness matters to us greatly.


Dress/Item Collection

Dress collection date/time will be agreed upon between the lessee and Glamourhouse. This will usually be 1-2 days prior to your event. The full hire fee and bond must be paid prior to this day if paying via direct deposit, or bond may be paid in cash on collection.

Drivers Licence, student card or other valid identification will be required for sighting on or before collection.

We do however record any pre-collect imperfections, so that we know the difference between pre-existing & new imperfections.  ​

Returns & penalty fees
Return date and time will be determined between Glamourhouse and the lessee, however unless otherwise arranged, weekend hires are expected to be returned on or before 2pm on the first Monday following your event.  A earlier or later return date may be necessary/agreed upon in certain circumstances. 


Where a Garment has not been returned to Glamourhouse by the agreed Hire Return Due Date & time then Glamourhouse shall be entitled to charge additional Hire Fees until the Garment is returned and the Client expressly authorises Glamourhouse to charge such additional Hire Fees. Such additional charges shall be charged a fixed rate of 50% of the Hire Fee for each day overdue, and a minimum $30.

* If you a hiring from interstate you must return the item via Express Post the NEXT business day following your event date as to not interfere with the next persons hire date of that item - or full bond may be held.


Important note:The lessee agrees not to attempt to clean, iron/press or alter/repair their garment in any way. Cleaning & alterations/repairs of all garments is taken care of by Glamourhouse & by our preferred suppliers only.

Damaged Items
Full risk for the Garment passes to the Client upon collection.

The Client accepts full responsibility for the safekeeping of the garment & acknowledges they have inspected the garment & are happy with the garment's condition upon collection. Any faults or damage that are not pointed out to us by you upon collection or that are discovered after collection are the responsibility of the client, not the responsibility of Glamourhouse.


Glamourhouse inspects all items upon return. We understand that accidents can happen, so should an item be returned stained or damaged we will simply use the full bond or a portion of the bond in order to repair the garment.


Although it is extremely rare, should a garment be damaged (or lost/stolen) beyond what the bond covers, or if the item is deemed un-hirable by us once returned by you, whether or not such loss, theft, or damage is attributable to any negligence, failure, or omission of the Client, then you the Client will be liable to pay full retail cost replacement of the item.


Should this occur, then you the Client also agrees to cover the hire cost for the next customer booking of the same garment should Glamourhouse need to cancel/refund the next customers hire due to damage caused.  

The damaged garment remains the property of Glamourhouse.

It is extremely rare for this to occur, however it is important to take great care of your hired item & to understand the implications of a dress that is damaged to the point it can no longer be hired or needs to be marked down in price for future hires due to damage caused during your hire.


On the rare occasion, if the dress you have booked to wear is damaged by a customer before you get to wear it, you can either a) switch to another available dress, or b) take a 12 month hire credit to the full value of your hire amount paid.

Garment Care

When wearing your garment, please be careful of the below examples and anything else that could cause damage:


  • Substances that stain material: including but not limited to: eg: red wine, dyed drinks such as red/blue Vodka Cruisers, Ink, heel marks, oils, waterproof makeup, fake tan, grass stains, mud/dirt etc. TIP: If something of concern is spilled on you, head to the bathroom & rinse that spot under cold water before the mark dries. Make a note of what substance caused the mark as this info will give our cleaners the best possible chance of removal.


  • Long Dress/Dresses with Trains: Be careful of you or people around you stepping on your dress in heels (especially pointy heels - it is safer wearing a block heel), dragging your dress across outdoor surfaces (dirt, mud, grass) rough surfaces (eg concrete, bitumen) or dirty surfaces, dragging chair legs over your dress etc


  • Material Pulling/Damage: Anything that can pull threads/damage the material of your dress including rough clutches/bags, corsages, NAIL/LASH GLUE, pointy nails, sitting/leaning on rough surfaces (brick walls), catchy jewellery etc
  • Take extra care of dresses with extra delicate materials eg mesh etc


  • BOOB TAPE/DOUBLE SIDED TAPE/ALTERATIONS: Please obtain approval from Glamourhouse to stick any type of tape/adhesive (eg Booby Tape, double sided tape etc) to your dress, as we will explain to you if/where it can safely be used without causing damage to your dress.
  • No pinning or alterations to the dress can be made without express permission from Glamourhouse.
